buybuy BABY Says Hello to First Northern California Location; Leases Former 38K SF Circuit City Space at Almaden Plaza

February 19, 2010 – Don Krieger and Drew Greenspan with Terranomics Retail Services have represented tenant buybuyBABY in its first Northern California location, as the Bed Bath & Beyond-owned retail chain inked a new long-term lease totaling 37,849 square feet at the Almaden Plaza in the Blossom Valley area of south San Jose. The space was formerly home to Circuit City. buybuyBABY specializes in infant's and children’s needs, including clothes, furniture, car seats, feeding equipment, bath items, and toys. The property is owned by Almaden Plaza Shopping Center. Terranomics exclusively represents both buybuyBaby and Bed Bath & Beyond.


Furniture Mart Takes Former Circuit City Space at Serramonte Plaza

February 19, 2010 – Todd Oliver and Mike Costa with Terranomics Retail Services have brokered a new 25,000-square-foot lease agreement between tenant Furniture Mart and property owner SPI Holdings, LLC at the Serramonte Plaza in Daly City. Furniture Mart is scheduled for tenancy in the former Circuit City space in April.


Adobe Animal Hospital Expands to 14K SF Building in Los Altos

February 19, 2010 – Mike Costa and Todd Oliver with Terranomics Retail Services along with Dan Persyn with Cassidy Turley BT Commercial Palo Alto have represented property owner LAEC Management, Inc. in the new lease of a 14,004-square-foot freestanding building to Abobe Animal Hospital in Los Altos. The building, formerly occupied by Elephant Pharmacy, is located at 4470 El Camino Real. Abobe Animal Hospital, a full service animal hospital with 24 hour care, signed a long-term agreement and is expanding from its existing location on First Street in Los Altos.


AutoZone Buys Building on El Camino Real in Redwood City for $2.3 Million

February 19, 2010 – Jon Stansbury and James Gaglione with Terranomics Retail Services and Tim Howarth of Cassidy Turley BT Commercial Palo Alto have collaborated to broker the owner/user sale of an 8,416-square-foot freestanding retail building in Redwood City for $2,300,000, or $273 per square foot. Stansbury and Gaglione represented the buyer, AutoZone, and Howarth represented the seller, Robert and Dorothy Kissick. Situated along the region’s major thoroughfare, the property is located is 901 El Camino Real.


DB Shoes Opens New Store on Ground Floor of SF’s Galleria Park Hotel

February 19, 2010 – Rhonda Diaz Caldewey and Jessica Birmingham with Terranomics Retail Services have represented property owner Interwest Capital in a new 7,000-square-foot lease to tenant DB Shoe Company at 150 Kearny Street in San Francisco. The space is located on the ground floor of the Galleria Park Hotel. The property is positioned on the cusp of where Union Square’s edgiest retailers meet the Financial District. DB Shoes recently opened to customers at their new San Francisco site, now its 12th California store location.


Buffalo Wild Wings Tees Up New Deal at Solano Mall

February 19, 2010 – James Chung with Terranomics Retail Services represented tenant Tee It Up, LLC dba Buffalo Wild Wings in a new lease of 6,800 square feet at the Solano Mall in Fairfield. The mall is owned by Westfield Corporation, Inc. The award-winning Buffalo Wild Wings, now one of the fastest growing restaurant chains in the country with plans for over 1,000 restaurants, is scheduled for tenancy at Solano Mall in August. Buffalo Wild Wings’ concept offers customers a full menu in a sports bar environment.


TD AMERITRADE Relocates to Corte Madera Town Center

February 19, 2010 – Rhonda Diaz Caldewey with Terranomics Retail Services has represented TD AMERITRADE, Inc. in a new long-term lease of a 6,097-square-foot freestanding retail building located within the Corte Madera Town Center. TD AMERITRADE, an online brokerage service company and listed as one of “Forbes 2000”, is scheduled for occupancy in June. Corte Madera Town Center is owned by Madison Marquette. TD is relocating from San Rafael.


San Francisco Honda Extends Term on 6K SF Building on 9th Avenue

February 19, 2010 – Michael Seigel with Terranomics Retail Services has represented property owner TMA Partners in the lease renewal of a 6,000-square-foot freestanding retail building to Boas International Motors dba San Francisco Honda. The building is located at 1259 9th Avenue and serves as San Francisco Honda’s service center.


United States Postal Services Relocates Within Los Altos’ Main Street

February 19, 2010 –James Gaglione with Terranomics Retail Services and Jim Kovaleski of Cassidy Turley BT Commercial San Jose have represented tenant The United States Postal Service in a new lease totaling 3,500 square feet in Los Altos. The space, located in a strip center along Main Street, is owned by Cranston Trust et al. The United States Postal Service is relocating from its previous Los Altos site at 100 First Street.


Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries Cooks Up Long Term Lease at Pacific Commons

February 19, 2010 – James Gaglione and James Chung with Terranomics Retail Services have represented tenant Tripart, Inc. dba Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries in a new 3,216-square-foot lease at Pacific Commons retail power center in Fremont. Five Guys, which inked a long-term lease agreement, is scheduled to open in June. Pacific Commons is located at Interstate 880 and Auto Mall Parkway and is owned by Catellus, a ProLogis company.


Rubio’s Opening New Restaurant at San Mateo’s Central Park

February 19, 2010 – Todd Oliver and Matt Taylor with Terranomics Retail Services represented the Landlord, the Tan Group, in a transaction with Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill in a new 2,584-square-foot lease at Central Park shopping center in downtown San Mateo on 4th Avenue. Rubio’s will open its doors to customers this June. Per its web site, this new San Mateo location brings the number of Rubio's restaurants to more than 190 throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Colorado.
